Katie followed the claw up its length, steely fingers melding with purple sinew that slowly took on the form of an arm as the extended limb seeped back into the main mass of the body. She tried not to look at the body too much, a thickset thing covered in fur that was too matted with things to tell what its color had originally been. Mostly it was red.

The face drew her eyes instead, a slight "ugh" of disgust working its way from her as it dropped a heart into its snouted jaws. He paused, mid motion. "You want some of this by the way?"

She shook her head, numbly, and he shrugged. "Gotta offer. Katai's favorites tend to have her tastes, sometimes." He dug around in the woman's body some more, a single claw working its way to pull out the entrails. "Never found an organ in your lunch?"

"A kidney. Once." The words felt dull in her mouth. She hadn't felt the woman die. Dragon had always told her she'd be able to feel it when someone died. "I didn't eat. And I yelled at her a lot, but she never came down."

He wrapped a line of intestines around his fingers, licking it off like a cone. "That means she likes you. Katai only offers organs to the ones she really likes. I've never been able to figure out if she really eats them, or if she just likes messing with people. She's odd for a goddess of death, you know."

Katie nodded. She wondered what the people around her were seeing, if anything. Glamour's worked better the more gruesome a scene was. People really didn't want to see things like this.

"Name's Dave by the way," he added, holding out a bloody claw. "I like organs, but I'm afraid Katai never really took a liking to me that way. Might be she just knew."

Katie stared at it for a few moments, the shell of numbness slowly cracking as anger began to seep out. He'd killed someone in front of her. He'd eaten someone in front of her. "There is no way in hell I am shaking that hand."

Light flickered across her fingers, digging into his flesh. The purple twisted for a moment, turning more slender for a bare second before returning back.

"Strong," he declared, looking at it with what she thought was amusement. "But  you shifted back into human form."

"Something you should remember the next time you claim you can look after yourself," declared the woman from the ground. Her organs were dripping from the hole, but she still slapped Dave's hand back as he reached for them. He whined a little, clutching it against his body like a hurt puppy.

"You may call me Lika, as you are unlikely to pronounce anything longer correctly," declared the woman, meeting Katie's disgusted look with stony faced silence. "And in the future, learn to differentiate between humans and immortals. I will forgive you for not noticing my pet, however."

"Partner, not pet!" he protested, form slowly shrinking down to a human form. A reverse to Dragon's other nature of a plushy she supposed, looking at him as the figure crushed in on itself. The chest stayed flat for a moment before blossoming out into soft breasts, thick arms sliding into soft and slender branches of flesh as Dave held them out stiffly. He made a soft "huh," of surprise, looking them over. "You are strong, aren't you?" she whispered, groin taking shape with a skirt. "It'll take me a good ten minutes to turn this off..."

"Leave it," Lita ordered. "It'll make us less conspicuous to have a third girl than a burly man."

Katie gritted her teeth, holding back the urge to countermand the order out of pettiness. She couldn't resist letting out a soft huff as she transformed though, breasts growing outwards slightly as she grew a little bit taller. Her outfit shifted with the rest of her, tight tank top and skirt sliding over her flesh as green hair fell down around her ears. The hoop earrings felt familiar if a little bit irritating, completing her super hero look.

"Come on," she muttered, not cerain if she was talking to herself or them. "We've gotta go take care of some monsters."
The woman was always supposed to survive - no idea HOW the monster became a partner. Worked out well, though. :P
